Specialty - Formulated product engineering (GPF)

The objective of the Master’s degree specialty ‘ Formulated product engineering) (GPF) is to provide skills needed for the production of ‘formulated’ goods (paints, cosmetics, detergents, glues and adhesives …) and to apply the knowledge base to valorisation of molecules, notably those coming from research in agro-resources. This GPF Master's course has been approved and certified by the Industries and Agro-Resources cluster.

Training contents

The GPF courses cover complex solids and fluids, implementation technologies and characterization of product use properties. Included are the upstream professions: laboratory work to compose and prepare complex mixtures and new compositions, for example those from biomass sources.

This specialty is taught at two sites (M1S1 at UPJV and M1S2 and M2 at UTC).

Teaching staff

The teaching staff is a mix of lecturer research scientists from UTC and UPJV and from ESCOM (HE engineering school in organic and mineral chemistry), plus some professionals as adjunct lecturers from the related industrial 'formulation' sectors.

Professional Openings

The professional openings in this area related mainly to formulation of new products for markets such as are found in para-chemistry (paints, inks glues and adhesives, phytosanitary products, fertilizers, lubricants, detergents, cosmetics ...), the pharmaceutical sector as well as raw material transformation (agro food sector, fuels, catalysers, paper and pulp, textiles, plastics, rubber, cement, concrete, glasses ...).
